About our cause

Nourishing USA launched on Sept 17th, 2011. Nourishing USA was created in response to the hundreds of requests that we at Nourishing NYC received in regards to creating similar community food program in various cites throughout America. By giving volunteer community advocates across the country the necessary tools and motivation to make the growth of local fresh produce free and accessible, we can all combat the growing problem of poverty and obesity. Anyone who wants to help is encouraged to.

What population we serve?

All-ages, low-income.

What success we've already had

We have won several awards and our CEO has been selected as both a L'Oreal Women of Worth and a CNN Hero.

Our primary mission
Nourishing USA is a not-for-profit, 501 (c)(3), nationwide hunger advocacy program that strives to achieve “nutrition for all” in America.

How the money will be spent

It would feed over 100,000 people around the USA, provide over 6000 volunteer opportunities, and provide over 1,000,000 seed for groups to plant their own community gardens.
