About our cause

Since Light Gives Heat (LGH) began in 2007, the task of effectively communicating to the Western world what we are seeing and experiencing in Africa is something we have taken seriously. As film is the best medium to share, LGH produced MOVING ON, a feature-length film reminding us that a relationship with Africa is not one sided -the West will not rescue Africa because our rescues are tied up in one another. We have a donated tour bus and our goal is to take MOVING ON on a tour across America!

What population we serve?

Two-fold: 1-LGH employs over 100 Producers in Uganda, Africa. 2-Inspiring people in the west – calling people to step out, risk, and change the world.

What success we've already had

For five years, LGH has provided a consistent weekly income to our Producers in Uganda through the purchase of trend-savvy handmade products which are marketed and sold to storytell and generate funds. LGH has also launched projects in Uganda focused on solar cooking, mushroom growing, container gardening, and rainwater harvesting amongst others.

Our primary mission
Light Gives Heat's mission is two-fold: 1) Empowering Africans through the encouragement of economic sustainability and creative endeavors. 2) Motivating people in the west to "be the change they want to see in the world."
Why should you support our cause

Through the power and beauty of film, MOVING ON captivates audiences and calls them to risk -to use their passions and skills to change the world.

How the money will be spent

Helping take the film MOVING ON (www.MovingOnMovie.com) on a US tour – calling tens of thousands of people to action and furthering the mission of LGH through awareness and product sales. We'll be partnering with college/university groups to bring the film to the next generation of world changers.
