MOVING ON: UTILIZING THE POWER OF FILM TO CHANGE THE WORLD
Light Gives Heat in Grand Junction, CO by Dave Hansow
Since Light Gives Heat (LGH) began in 2007, the task of effectively communicating to the Western world what we are seeing and experiencing in Africa is something we have taken seriously. As film is the best medium to share, LGH produced MOVING ON, a feature-length film reminding us that a relationship with Africa is not one sided -the West will not rescue Africa because our rescues are tied up in one another. We have a donated tour bus and our goal is to take MOVING ON on a tour across America!
Two-fold: 1-LGH employs over 100 Producers in Uganda, Africa. 2-Inspiring people in the west – calling people to step out, risk, and change the world.
For five years, LGH has provided a consistent weekly income to our Producers in Uganda through the purchase of trend-savvy handmade products which are marketed and sold to storytell and generate funds. LGH has also launched projects in Uganda focused on solar cooking, mushroom growing, container gardening, and rainwater harvesting amongst others.
