Help Give Children of Cancer Patients a Much Needed Break!

Camp Kesem Berkeley in Berkeley, CA by Kate Rosenberg

About our cause

Camp Kesem Bekeley is the UC Berkeley chapter of a national, student-run organization which provides free summer camp to kids whose parents are battling cancer. The kids, and their parents, are given a much-needed respite, in a loving, supportive environment which allows them to be kids and allows them to be surrounded by other people who understand what they are going through.

What population we serve?

Cancer patients and their children in the Bay Area

What success we've already had

Each year we send about 70 children to camp and we never turn away a child. Next summer, we hope to have 100 campers. Camp Kesem is a national organization with camps around the country. It is completely run by college students.

Our primary mission
To provide kids whose parents are battling cancer with a free summer camp experience that gives them a chance to be kids, in a loving and supportive environment. To allow college students to channel their passion for helping others.
Why should you support our cause

A free summer camp, run by college students, for kids whose parents have cancer, which allows them a much-needed break in a supportive environment.

How the money will be spent

College students fundraise all year to raise enough money to bring campers to camp. All the coordinators and counselors are volunteers. They provide a wonderful summer camp experience in Santa Cruz, where all meals and activities are paid for.
