About our cause

North Carolina has fallen to 45th in the nation for K-12 education spending and the arts have suffered. LEAF provides arts in education in school and after school programming in Western North Carolina and has expanded globally into eight countries across the world. We believe children have a VOICE and give them the unique opportunity to perform on a national stage with their teaching artists. We need YOUR support so that LEAF can connect cultures and create community through music and arts.

What population we serve?

LEAF in Schools & Streets and LEAF International programs empower underserved youth locally and indigenous youth living in poverty globally.

What success we've already had

Over 27,000 youth have participated in collaborative outreach programs designed to reach youth locally by matching performing artists to underserved communities where they lead hands-on workshops, residencies and interactive performances. Globally, over 720 youth have been connected to their cultural music traditions through local artists.

Our primary mission
LEAF is a non profit organization established to build community and enrich lives through the arts, locally and globally, with festivals, community events and arts in education programs.
Why should you support our cause

LEAF needs your help to sustain cultural traditions worldwide & share cultures with youth through the empowering vehicle of music and arts education.

How the money will be spent

Your vote will directly impact 24 outreach programs. Each year, $5,000 can provide teaching artist salaries for 3 weekly after school programs(avg. $119/child) OR for 2 international programs (avg. $33/child). Funds will be used to fill the gap in arts education & increase impact for 5000 youth.
